David Butts managing partner, CMS Bulgaria

David is the Managing Partner at CMS Cameron McKenna Sofia and Co-Head of the Private Equity Group in CEE.

His experience in the legal profession includes working at one of Canada’s pre-eminent Corporate and Commercial law firms, acting as General Counsel for the Canadian subsidiary of a multinational pharmaceutical company, and being the founding partner of a Montreal – based firm, where he practised corporate and commercial law with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property protection and technology licensing. David also has considerable experience in the real estate sector and has led some of the largest deals for CMS Sofia. David is recognized as a “problem-solver who can find solutions in real time around the negotiation table” (Chambers and Partners Global).

He has advised a number of the most prominent foreign investors in Bulgaria and the CEE region, including: Tishman Management International and Landmark Properties.
